Catherine Simpson is a writer and editor based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Most recently, her short-form writing can be found in Shenandoah Fantastic, an anthology of fantasy stories, and in Wallstraight, a literary journal for weird fiction, where her short story “Speckled Observations” was nominated for a Pushcart prize.
Catherine’s longer form writing is represented by Claire Friedman with InkWell Management, and she’s currently drafting a new novel about a naïve teacher at an isolated Appalachian boarding school where students are disappearing (again). When she isn’t writing cozy fantasy stories or knee-deep in track changes, she can be found wandering the Rivanna trails, looking at trees, or talking to her cat, Mauka.
